Baby Log: Week 18

baby's first snowMarlie and me are back from our break. Our city woke up to a white Christmas for the first time in 80 years! This made Marlie's 1st Christmas even more special. I even braved the cold to take her outside too see the snow. As you can see in the photo, she was less than impressed. It was a brief outing. Miss Marlie stayed super busy this week:
  • She learned to splash the water in her bath. nice. She also taught herself to spit bubbles. cute. (can you read the sarcasm between the lines?)
  • One of her socks went missing and we searched high and low for it. I later found it in her diaper...she pooped a sock! It was so funny. I should have taken a picture.baby Marlie's first Christmas
  • Last Sunday we attend Christmas Eve-ning service at the home of a fellow parishioner. Marlie and her grandma donned their gay apparel. We sang carols, read the nativity and ate good food. It was sweet.
  • On Christmas Eve went drove to a ritzy part of the city to see Christmas light decorations on the mansions. It was beautiful to behold.
  • For Christmas we decided to celebrate low-key style. We had an early dinner (lupper!) at our favorite Indian restaurant. yum! We came home (no kitchen to clean up!) and took a nap. We had dessert later that night. Damon made pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. double yum!
  • It was a truly happy holiday!

LOL about the sock. It's funny the places you find things when you have kids.

Sounds like you had the best kind of Christmas, enjoying your family!

Ugh, kids and socks! I can never find a pair that matches as my 1 year old is constantly taking them off and flinging them all over. It's a battle I've been waging for almost 5 years now with all three of the boys, clearly I'm losing...badly.

Jealous you got a white Christmas. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by Ma, What's For Dinner! Glad I got the chance to come check out your little pad! I'll be back soon for sure!

We used to always have Chinese for Christmas. One year, I had the flu up until Christmas. Then I was well enough to eat, but we had no food in the house. We spent all day trying to find somewhere that was serving food and a Chinese restaurant was it. It was our holiday tradition until the kids started complaining that they wanted a traditional dinner. This year, we even broke out the china. They helped with everything. My 11 year-old son even took and filled drink orders on his own initiative. Of course, I had to put stop to that when he came in holding a bottle of wine and wanting to know how to use a cork screw. :-)
